For spring 2012, Pinkyotto designer Ryo Liu was inspired by movement, stirred by the style of downtown New York and the constant movement of the women that live and work there.
The spring collection, which consists of the brand’s easy tank tops, tunics and dresses are adorned with distinctive prints that were reminiscent of Liu’s inspiration. As the designer explains, “Pinkyotto is inspired by the young women who achieve an effortless style while traversing the urban landscape of lower Manhattan.”

The Collection we love is inspired by strong and powerful women. Haizhen Wang delves deep into their personalities and dramatic lives which is communicated through the juxtaposition of drapery and tailoring. Wang’s designs are defined by the pairing of contrasting materials, shapes and cuts that come together to create stand out pieces.
Born in China, Wang often dreamed of pursuing his career in design in London. As he explains, “I was always inspired by the innovative designs that came out of this city” and moved to London to begin his career. He worked with Max Mara, Boudicca and UK’s All Saints before launching his namesake label in 2010.
Today, Haizhen Wang is gearing up to launch in the United States bringing his extraordinary vision as part of the emerging new guard of designers in London.
Geek is in as more and more tech accessories are making their own fashion statement. The likes of Marc Jacobs, Kate Spade and Diane von Furstenberg are filling the void between geek and chic. You can find cute and convenient laptop cases, Ipad and Iphone accessories, and even gloves that are touchscreen compatible so your hands stay warm while you text. You need to protect your gadgets anyway so why not indulge in some designer digs.
Floral seems to be the pattern that keeps on giving! While the girly pattern has been around for decades, it seems only fitting that it makes an appearance in the upcoming Spring collections. The design is getting bigger, brighter and just all around more fun! These looks are found in the March issue of People Style Watch. The “Fashion Florals” story features designs from Alexander Wang, DKNY, and our personal favorite McGinn. Whether it be a stand alone piece or bold pop of pattern, you can never go wrong with floral this Spring.
Cyrcle. A brand combining art, media, and fashion culminated by a mix of talented people is setting up a pop up shop this Saturday in downtown LA from 7pm-11pm. While they have been busy with their artwork in connection with LA Freewalls they have also been focusing on their Spring ’12 line. You can find a preview to their collection this weekend. There is much to say about Cyrcle Brand. But as a visual based company, it is best to show you. Check out the short video below to get a gimpse into the company that is taking over Los Angeles and soon the world.
The fashion forward girls here at Caro Marketing are good at mixing vintage with designer names. The look we are featuring this week is Lindsey Saletta, the San Diego native that assists our President with all of our creative projects. Since a P.O.C. (Pop of color) is the “it” word this season, thanks to Brad Goreski, Lindsey doesn’t have to do much to spice up her black and white outfit with her fiery red hair. When asked how having natural red hair affects her closet she says, “Red hair is a blessing and a curse. The major pro: I can wear black and white and still have plenty of color.” The minimalist look is complete with her Pennyroyal jewelry which we love since it stands for a cause. ‘The Ocean’ pendant benefits THERAsurf, a charity that provides for children with special needs and builds community through the positive power of the ocean.
It’s no secret that the art of manicures are back on the scene. We seem to have moved on from cheesy Hawaiian flowers to trendy mustaches and now celebrities, bloggers, and magazines are featuring new and fun ways to approach the nail trend. Want to hop on the bandwagon? For the artsy/creative type you can find DIY tutorials online or if you are artfully challenged you can buy fun stick-on options to improve your nail fashion. It’s safe to say we have come a long way from the French manicure.
The American Idol judge stepped out of her New York hotel in typical J.Lo style wearing Paul & Joe Sister’s gray EDISSON coat. Jennifer styled the coat with diamond earrings, matching pumps, big sunglasses and her beau Casper Smart, of course. With its solid gray color, military style buttons and belted silhouette, the EDISSON coat is on trend with a variety of jackets for the fall/winter season.
Paul & Joe Sister’s EDISSON coat is available at Paul & Joe retail stores. Price approximately $675.
French designer Alexandre Vauthier, whose label is approaching 3 years old, is no novice when it comes to fashion. He has worked with the likes of Thierry Mugler and Jean Paul Gaultier to combine with a total of an 8 year timeline of experience. He launched his brand in 2009 and has since been noticed by Lady Gaga and Beyonce, who featured the designer’s vibrant fur stole on the cover of her “4” album. His new SS12 collection displays plunging neck lines paired with eccentric neck pieces. We love how the flowy and structured pieces work together to create a beautiful collection.
We love featuring celebrity looks but this week our own Showroom Manager and VIP Relations Willa Fleege stole the show. Willa perfects the art of layering with this look. While maintaining a neutral pallette, we love the use of denim in the shoes and the vest. We asked Willa where you can shop for hidden treasures in LA and she says she spends her time “rummaging through the thrift stores in the South Bay, especially for costume jewelry.” We may find ourselves hanging out in Manhattan Beach this weekend!
